We live in an age of electronic hiring. You must develop competency to use job boards to find jobs and to let selective groups of employers and recruiters know you exist. Post your resume on your profession’s job boards and, if appropriate, your college’s job board. If you want anyone to find you, post your resume on one of the major job boards.

If you respond to a job listing, realize a resume selection program will read your resume electronically. The program dumps selected resumes into an inbox for recruiter review. The recruiter will take 5 to 15 seconds to determine if your resume should have further review. In large companies, this function is performed by entry level HR people.

The resume selection program uses key word searches to find your resume. Use key words in the job description in your resume. If you do not place a date range after an employment entry, the program will give you zero years credit for that experience and will not consider the experience significant for selection purposes.

    Online Websites for Job Hunting

Keep in mind that the “just right or perfect” job could be in any one of these sites.

Check them all out, just because it says “legal or tech” doesn’t mean that they don’t need your skills. Lawyers need assistants, all companies need tech help. Are you limiting yourself to only sites that are in your field or are you looking at everything??? Never Assume

One persons idea of a “Job Title/Name” may not be what you think it is, check it out. Read the description
